Michael Morgan

Director of CRISP

Dr. Michael C. Morgan is a professor in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (AOS) and the Associate Dean for Research in the College of Letters and Science. He received his S.B. and Ph.D. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his work focuses on understanding the dynamics and predictability of weather systems. Dr. Morgan has previously served as the associate chair of the AOS undergraduate program and chair of the Curriculum Committee in L&S. In addition to serving in numerous roles at the American Meteorological Society (AMS), he has also been a part of the World Meteorological Organization World Weather Research Program’s Science Steering Committee. Most recently Dr. Morgan served as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Environmental Observation at NOAA. With a lifelong curiosity of science, Dr. Morgan is a champion for research and is invested in advancing public support through innovation and partnership.

Erin Bailey
Associate Director,
Community-Engaged Research

Erin brings over 20 years of experience fostering outreach, education, programming and research using a social equity and justice lens. Most recently, Erin was the Director of Evaluation and Research at the Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness, where she was dedicated to advancing the growth and development of research partnerships and enterprise-wide data management and analysis. Erin was formerly a Community Based Researcher at the Cancer Health Disparities Initiative within the UW Carbone Cancer Center – Wisconsin’s NCI designated cancer center.  She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Human Ecology, with degrees in Human Development & Family Studies, Human Ecology, and Civil Society and Community Research.

Kyle Joseph
Associate Director,
Business Engagement

Kyle is an accomplished innovation leader, change-maker and growth-catalyst. He brings over 20 years experience leading product innovation, corporate strategy and ecosystem development across multiple disciplines and industries at a global scale. Kyle has a passion for driving innovation and high-impact creative strategies. His experience as a corporate executive, global strategy & innovation consultant, engineer and entrepreneur allows him to quickly understand, empathetically consult and empower successful partnerships. He holds an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and a graduate degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Sales Leadership and Entrepreneurship. Kyle is a proud dreamer, traveler, foodie, husband, father and overall supporter of passionate people.

Dave Schroeder
Director,
National Security Initiatives

Dave Schroeder works to enable and advance intelligence and security research and partnerships with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). Dave has experience with the many agencies and ecosystems across the security and intelligence enterprise. He is passionate about creating connections and bringing the rich and dynamic expertise at UW–Madison to the most pressing global security challenges. Dave serves as an Army Cyber Warfare Officer and Military Intelligence Officer in the Wisconsin Army National Guard, and previously served a Navy Cryptologic Warfare Officer. He is also Research Director of the Wisconsin Security Research Consortium (WSRC), and manages UW’s Cyber Programs and Designations. He holds graduate degrees in Cybersecurity Policy and Information Warfare, and is graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School, Naval War College, and Joint Forces Staff College.

Randall Gentry
Director of Development, Foundation Relations

Randall Gentry serves as the director for foundation relations for the College of Letters & Science and is housed at the University of Wisconsin Foundation (UWF). Randall oversees the College’s top foundation prospects in collaboration with campus and UWF colleagues. Prior to beginning his professional career in Madison, Randall has more than 12 years’ experience across the foundation relations landscape in local and national non-profits, two four-year research universities, and a community college system. Randall also has extensive experience as a grant writer for foundations, corporations, and state and federal agencies. For three years, Randall led the grantmaking for a statewide, community foundation in Texas. He earned a B.B.A. in Marketing and an M.A. in Sociology from Texas Tech University.

Alba McIntyre
Policy and Planning Analyst


Alba McIntyre, MS, PhD is the Policy and Planning Analyst for CRISP. For over a decade, Alba has developed the methods and processes used to provide strategic and competitive intelligence to our internal and external clients. She specializes in bibliometrics, capacity / competency analysis, landscape analysis and corporate engagement strategy. Previously, Alba led the research competitive intelligence effort at The Ohio State University.  

Alba received her PhD from Ohio State in Agronomy, with a major in Soil Physics and a minor in Statistics. She completed her postdoctoral training at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) on Ohio State’s Wooster campus.
