Team Science Seminar

Thursday February 5, 2026, 9:00-10:00am, Union South

This seminar,“High-Impact Collaborative Research: Tools and Strategies to Improve Cross-disciplinary Science” will be an overview of team science opportunities and challenges, as well as the strategies, tools, and practices that can help teams work together more efficiently and effectively.

Why Team Science?

Team Science focuses on the unique challenges faced by interdisciplinary teams, and leverages collaboration skills to enhance a teams effectiveness to conduct their research. Team Science is also well suited for those interested in community engaged research, allowing partners to navigate through co-learning and co-produced research. Collaborative team science has quickly become the norm for researchers working on complex research problems that require collaboration across disciplinary and institutional boundaries. While team science has many benefits, including the ability to address more complex questions, there are also challenges in coordinating people and tasks across those boundaries. The field of The Science of Team Science has identified characteristics of successful teams and best practices that, when implemented, can improve how a team works together. This seminar will cover the opportunities and challenges of cross-disciplinary research, with a focus on practical, accessible, and feasible strategies and practices that teams can implement.

The seminar will be facilitated by CRISP guest speaker Dr. Betsy Rolland, PhD MLIS MPH

Space is limited.
